Plastic Containers For Sale Is Bottled Water Really So Bad For The Environment?

Is bottled water really so bad for the environment? - plastic containers for sale

There is talk of banning the sale of mineral water in some places, but it's really so bad for the environment? They say that is about the plastic waste and the impact of transport on global climate change, but what about bottled soft drinks? Milk in plastic containers? What about meat in styrofoam that comes with it? It's much worse for the environment than plastic because the gas Ceat during the manufacturing process. It is difficult to develop a product that is not involved in Placticamos imagine. What's so great about bottled water?

  1. No big deal, I think that is the contradiction between health and plastics in the minds of people, their attention. Of course, plastic drink bottles with potential risks, the researchers found that more than 15 years * slowly from some water soluble compounds as polyhydroxyphenol (phps) plastic released into the water. This includes denial of the plastic waste in the corners, etc., phps slowly leaching into the groundwater. The similarity between the molecules of PHP and sex hormones (the control of sexual development in animals and humans) is convenient. Scientists believe that the United States may result in groundwater phps sexual inversion of American crocodiles and alligators in the Everglades in Florida. Maybe the trick is not to drink in plastic containers, if the value of yer mojo!

  2. Yes it is. As it is said that it is bad for the environment. It is worse than other things you listed because it is a source of avoidable waste, they are. To produce Coca-Cola and trimmings, but it is a simple alternative for them. With water, is the simple solution, the solution of the environment, and use tap water. The production of mineral depleted local water sources, and as the richest sources back in the bottle, the municipal water sources receiving less funding and lower quality.

    1) Water is heavy. That means a lot of energy (and produces a large amount of gas emissions greenhouse gases) to wear. The same holds true for non-alcoholic beverages, but you can of your tap at home, as you can with water. Therefore, a complete loss of energy and emissions of greenhouse gas emissions for the transportation of bottled water.

    2) 70% of water bottles are not recycled, and they always take to decompose. Again, the same is true of soft drinks, but again, could reach the faucet at home, use a reusable water bottle, and produces more waste.

    3) Drinking water quality is as good or better than the quality of water in bottles. Tap In fact, some bottled water for a return to simple filtered water so that it only come home, and save the dollar.

Basically, there is absolutely no reason to buy bottled water, but there are many reasons not to (plastic waste, energy and greenhouse gas emissions to buy, money).

  4. How bottled water is good or bad, it's usually tap water with a label. They are no more data through the buying or boycotting bottled water, unless you can tap water is much cheaper in the kitchen sink. The other fact is not taken into account that bottled water is usually from wells, with a high capacity to make the water table near the mining, which tend much suffering to the local environment. The rivers are affected, and local wells.

  5. In most cases, used plastic energy for transportation is, etc., is unnecessary and redundant, since they are mainly used in perfect condition, tap water is available. The main producers are bottling tap water.

This does not apply for things like milk.

  6. Water is probably the same, their bottles. Both manufacture and disposal of bottles more cleaning or recycling, even if it happens cause additional or unnecessary pollution and work

The campaigns of the manufacturers marketing bottled water to isolated instances of contaminated drinking water by encouraging the public perception that use their products as pure and safe drinking water. But the reality is that tap water actually subject to strict quality standards stricter than bottled water and some brands of bottled water are just tap water in the disaster. In addition, our increasing consumption of bottled water more than 22 gallons per U.S. citizen in 2004, according to Earth Policy Institute, a sustainable fuels industry, with a heavy burden on the environment.

    Environmental Impact

The consumption of fossil fuels. Approximately 1.5 million liters of oil, enough to power 100,000 cars for a year, are used to make plastic bottles to thes transportE bottles burns thousands of gallons of oil. Similarly, the burning of oil and other fossil fuels (which are also used to drive the manufacturing process to produce energy) emits the pollution responsible for global warming in the atmosphere.

Water consumption. The growth in output of mineral water has increased water extraction in areas near bottling plants, leading to water shortages that affect consumers and farmers in the area. In addition to the millions of gallons of water used in plastics, two liters of water are in the cleaning for each gallon, which is lost in the bottles.

Waste. Only about 10 percent of bottled water is recycled to decompose the rest in landfills where it takes thousands of years for plastic.

    The simple (and cheaper) solutions

The next time you turn around, if you thirsty, you give the bottle and the key. They not only reduce their impact on the environment but also save money from bottled water can cost up to 10,000 times more per liter of tap water. And because the U.S. Environmental Protection --Standards Agency to protect the tap water is more stringent than the Food and Drug Administration for bottled water, bottled water is as safe as or safer than,.

However, if you do not like the taste of your tap water or are not sure of their quality, you can buy a filter pitcher or install a filter tap low-cost to remove all traces of chemicals and bacteria. When you are away from home, you fill a reusable bottle from your tap and fill the street, travel bottles with built-in filters are also available. Finally, limit their purchases of bottled water for when you are traveling to countries where water quality is questionable.

  8. I think it's only because the tap water is really safe, bottled water better than anything that is beneficial to drink, such as fluorine, magnesium, the only difference in the coke and milk from a Tap

  9. I think it is sold because of the huge amount of water in bottles in those days. Soft drinks are bad, but, as mentioned above, bottled water is simply tap water in the bottle, transport, sale, etc., something that is outside the wall of his house.

  11. The poor thing does not justify other bad thing that the meat comes with Styrofoam is much worse for the environment than plastic because the gas Ceat during the manufacturing process must be the reason for alow water in bottles.
