Can I Install Slate Directly To Drywall Kitchen New Construction, I Want To Install Slate Subway Tiles As A Backsplash Over Painted Drywall. Ok Or ?

Kitchen new construction, I want to install slate subway tiles as a backsplash over painted drywall. ok or ? - can i install slate directly to drywall

I need to install Backer first card or can I install it directly on painted drywall and prepare for an apartment? The contractor left the electric fields and recepticals to 1 / 4 inches in the preparation of slate. Should I use a mortar or thin?

  1. Thin set mortar, and refer to the coatings are the same. The use of a sponsor on board is not necessary in this situation. SA is in the wetlands and some projects in a different register, and no more than nominal. Seal of the Commission if they have a genuine slate. Clean the back, even if it may be a fine powder on the board, you should be deleted. If a slate tile look, there's nothing to do. The cement is the way forward on this request. Both thin and glue just enough time to work. The soil conditions are applied, as well as touching as they happen. You can either, but if a novice "mastic easier. All the questions you can e-mail about my avatar and check my notes are not GL

  2. backerboard is overvalued, the right way is to install the winds and mud on the wall in front of the tiles. If you go the eye and insist on DIY, I'm only on the wall with a coarse sandpaper or a rasp and scrape and do the tiles. PuTTY is much easier to work with a thinset mortar or you have to work more time with her before she provides. If you do not learn, you will do well. Good luck and good choice of materials!

backerboard is only a necessity for those who have no real experience of the tiles. Mud is always the way to go, but the new guys have no idea where to start with this. Ten years ago, and has contracts, the base plates hacks, and they knew it. Even when compared to dry wet plaster, drywall, although again there in the United States, there is still no substitute for wet plaster.

wow is that the Board is the only stone that is missing is a porous structure which makes the absorption of water, 002%, which is better than any other stone in the world. Misinformation that more people the truth, how embarrassing.the video under the board, if you are interested in the truth.

  3. I've always thought that the slate is porous and should not be used near water. Check with your provider if the list is your choice and sealed. There are many regular tile with the look of slate, which does not require special sealing.
